Kitchen Fitters in Essex
A kitchen refit touches almost every trade we carry: plumbing, tiling, plastering, decorating and careful finishing. We fit kitchens across Essex, Kent and East London, from a straight swap of units and worktops to a full strip out and refit, with free written quotes and a 1-year workmanship warranty.
What a kitchen fitting quote covers
Every kitchen is quoted in writing before work starts, and the quote lists each stage so you can see where the money goes. A typical refit includes some or all of the following:
- Strip out and disposal of the old units, worktops and wall tiles
- First fix plumbing and any pipework alterations for sinks and appliances
- Plastering and making good walls and ceilings
- Fitting units, worktops, sinks and taps
- Wall and floor tiling, or splashbacks
- Second fix plumbing, sealing and final decoration
Keeping the layout or changing it
The single biggest decision in a kitchen refit is whether the layout stays where it is. Keeping the sink, hob and appliances on the existing services keeps the plumbing and making good simple. Moving them means new pipework and more plastering, and it is worth deciding before you order units rather than after.
We will talk through the options at the quote visit. If you are still weighing up the budget, our kitchen renovation costs guide explains what drives the overall figure, from unit ranges to worktop materials, without guessing at prices.
One team for the trades a kitchen needs
A kitchen refit goes wrong when the trades are booked separately and each one waits on the last. Because plumbing, tiling, plastering and decorating all sit within our own team, the stages follow each other without gaps, and you deal with one person from the first visit to the handover.
If the kitchen is part of a wider project, our home renovations page explains how several rooms are planned together.
Living in the house while we work
Most of the kitchens we fit are in occupied homes, so the work is planned around the household. We protect floors and walk ways, keep the mess contained to the kitchen as far as we can and leave the property clean at the end of each day. Where the water has to be off for part of a day, we tell you in advance.
You will be kept updated as each stage finishes, so you always know what happens next and when the kitchen will be usable again.
Choosing units, worktops and finishes
The materials you choose shape the quote more than the fitting does. Flat pack and rigid units both have their place, laminate and solid worktops behave very differently at the sink and the hob, and the choice between a tiled splashback and full wall tiling changes the preparation behind it. None of these decisions needs to be made before the quote visit, but it helps to arrive with a rough idea of the look you want.
If you are reusing appliances, tell us their sizes so the units are planned around them. New appliances can usually be connected as part of the refit, and we will flag anything that needs a different supply or venting before the units are ordered.

Frequently asked questions
How much should a kitchen fitter cost?
There is no single figure, because the cost depends on the size of the room, whether the layout moves, how much making good the walls need, and the units, worktops and tiles you choose. We quote each stage in writing so you can see exactly what is included before deciding.
Do you supply the kitchen or fit one I have bought?
Either. Tell us at the quote visit whether you already have units on order or would like help choosing, and the quote will reflect which applies.
How long does a kitchen refit take?
It depends on the scope. A like-for-like swap of units and worktops is far quicker than a full strip out with plastering and tiling. We give you a realistic programme in writing with the quote.
Can you move the sink and appliances?
Yes, provided the pipework can reach the new positions sensibly. We check this at the visit and explain what the change adds to the job.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Our workmanship is covered by a 1-year warranty, and we walk you through the finished kitchen at handover.
